Baldwin Area Medical Center is Western Wisconsin Health
Baldwin Area Medical Center is excited to announce that the new Western Wisconsin Health facility is nearing completion. The facility is expected to open over a three day period July 21 –July 25, 2016.
The new Western Wisconsin Health facility is designed in prairie style architecture with structures that are highly sustainable and in harmony with the natural environment. The new logo reflects the unique geometry and sustainability of the building. The colors of the logo are earth toned and compliment the interior design.
The health and wellness facility will have three floors, with all patient services on the main, ground level. The facility will offer a full spectrum of health care services including a clinic, emergency services, surgical services, a premier birth center, inpatient care, state-of-the-art diagnostics, a retail pharmacy and a gift shop, a public café, chapel/meditation room, and an educational atrium.
The Western Wisconsin Health fitness center and therapeutic pool will open on the campus in December, 2016. The long-range plan for the 95 acre health and wellness campus is to establish a community hub for health and wellness services of all types including: retirement housing, senior care, retail services, and other community resources that support healthy living.
The health and wellness facility has many sustainable features, including geothermal heat, all LED lighting, and water bottle filling stations. In the future, there will be photovoltaic (solar) capabilities. Most of the construction materials have been purchased locally in Wisconsin. The building will qualify for LEED Certification, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), which is a set of rating systems for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of green buildings, homes, and neighborhoods. To date, 87% of the construction waste has been recycled on the site.
The community grand opening celebration is planned for Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The celebration will include tours, live music, a meet and greet with our providers, and much more.
