WW Health Helps the Community Dash to Disney!
Western Wisconsin Health held the Dash to Disney finale event on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 to finish their family-friendly 10-week community walking challenge and awarded one lucky participant a trip to Disney World. A total of 442 participants completed the challenge!
The location of the finale event was changed to the Baldwin-Woodville High School to accommodate the overwhelming number of participants. Activities included games, photos with The Boy Who Never Grew Up and his Green Fairy Friend by Suzanne Wynveen, and additional surprise prizes.
Prize winners included:
- Grand Prize Trip to Disney – 6th Grader Noah Sarauer
- WWH Fitness Center $50 Gift Certificate (Donated by WWH) – Chase Margelofsky
- Mall of America Prize Package (Donated by Thunder Country) – Anson Veenstra

Participants of the Dash to Disney challenge worked together to achieve one goal: walking to Disney World! Throughout the challenge, participants (ages 5 and up) virtually stepped to 7 different Disney locations around the globe. Alexis Warzon, a personal trainer at WW Health, tracked the progress along the way and provided fun facts about each location. Total, participants accumulated 350,079,704 steps during the 10-week challenge. This is approximately 175,039.852 MILES! By the 3rd week of the challenge, the group had traveled through all 7 destinations, so the team at WW Health decided to set a new goal of 3 trips and came very close to reaching that goal.
“We are so pleased with the participation of so many families throughout the community,” said Natasha Ward, Director of Community Health Improvement. “This was larger than we ever dreamed possible – having to triple our goal was a great unexpected surprise. We hope this challenge has inspired them and others to continue their wellness journey.”
